Here is a cleanse that I had never heard of before and was curious to try.  Healthnex Supplements sent me their Triphala Cleanse a few weeks ago to test out and since I had never heard of Triphala before I was interested to see how it compared to other cleanses that I have tried.

Naturally, I had to do a little research about Triphala and found out that it has been used in Ayurcedic Medicine for hundreds of years to treat all kinds of digestive problems.  In addition, Triphala is actually a blend of the 3 Indian Ayurvedic herbs, Amalaki, Bibhitaki and Haritaki.  The Amalaki is an anti oxidant which helps get rid of any inflammation in your body, especially in the digestive tract and increasing lean body mass as well as helping you control your blood sugar.  Bibhitaki gets rid of all the extra fat and water in your cells.  Finally, Haritaki helps get rid of any toxins in your colon.

I liked that this cleanse was really easy to do since you just take 2 of the capsules before bed and there are no uncomfortable side effects.  Since I do cleanses on a regular basis I didn't notice any significant weight loss but I did feel like it helped with my cravings so that's a bonus!

Fitness Friday-Using Pinterest to Stay in Shape!

I must say I am a bit of a Pinterest addict!  It has got to be one of the best inventions ever, next to the Internet, email and Post-It notes!

I use Pinterest to save recipes, skin care/makeup articles & products, blog ideas, home decor and a handful of other things but one of my favorite ways to utilize Pinterest is to save fitness & workout articles, videos and challenges.  

Any workout or challenge that I want to try I simply save to my "Fitness" Pinterest board.  It is such a great way to keep my workouts fresh and new.  I add new workouts almost daily so if you are looking for ways to stay in shape and stay motivated make sure you follow GlamRiver on Pinterest or you can also just follow my Fitness Board!  (I also pin a lot of healthy recipes to my Food board so that would be another good one to follow!)

So, if you follow my blog then you already know that I love a good a Detox!  I have read all the articles that say Detoxing doesn't really work but I know how much better I feel after I do a Detox.  Maybe it's a placebo effect but I don't think so!
