This Advanced Retinol Pore Refiner by StriVectin was a bit of a game changer for me.  I have never really liked using any Retinol products during the day and I have always saved them for my nighttime routine.  Retinol can make skin sun-sensitive which is why I usually only use it at night, however, I really wanted to try and use this product as directed and since StriVectin recommended that it be used in the a.m. and p.m. for the best results, I figured I would give it a go!  Plus, the CC Cream that I use as a foundation contains SPF 55+ so it lessened my concern about my skin being sun sensitive.
I was eager to start using this Advanced Retinol Pore Refiner by StriVectin because it promised to reduce the appearance of my enlarged pores and refine my skin texture for a smooth, even complexion.  I have oily skin so I used it in place of my normal moisturizer and I instantly noticed that my pores were less noticeable and because of my oily skin I really loved the mattifying effect.  Plus, it left my skin feeling hydrated all at the same time.  Needless so say, this quickly became a "Holy Grail" product for me!  Almost magically after using it consistently for about 2 weeks I started to see a visible improvement in my skin texture and I have a few larger pores around my nose that seemed to shrink in size as well!  I can only imagine how much more improved my skin will look after 8 weeks of use!  StriVectin does it again!  I have long been a fan of their products and now I can add another one to my growing list.  Their products are a little on the expensive side, this Advanced Retinol Pore Refiner by StriVectin retails for $99, however, they are worth every penny!  After all, the results speak for themselves.  This is my #StriveSTORY!

Lately, this has been the toy of choice for my furbabies!  We have a toy box for all of the dog toys and when we come home from work this Squeaky Bear Dog Toy by Mavel is the one my Kosmo aka Chocolate Bay grabs.  He loves thing toy, carries it around constantly and even bring it to bed sometimes.  It's a very well made toy, it has even been the victim of a couple tug-of-wars between Kosmo, our Chocolate Lab and Karley our PitBull and it has survived it well!  Plus, it squeaks and what dog doesn't love a squeaky dog toy!

Happy Mask Monday!!  Tea Tree Oil is the #1 ingredient that I like to add when I am doing a Mud Mask.  Tea Tree Oil does so many wonderful things for skin which makes it the perfect ingredient to add to a Mud Mask. (recipe for my Tea Tree Oil Mud Mask is listed below)
The most common uses for Tea Tree Oil are for Acne, Cold Sores, Psoriasis Itchy insect bites, sores and sunburns and it is even used to help treat congestion and respiratory tract infections.  Recently, I have been using it to help clear up the cold/flu thing that has been hanging around.  Since Tea Tree Oil is an antiviral essential oil I just add a few drops to a steaming bowl of hot water, cover my head with a towel and breathe in the vapors for five to ten minutes.  It really does help clear my sinuses and it just feels like it's working away killing off all the germs!

I have mentioned Simply Earth here on my blog before and they use only 100% pure ingredients and there are no additives and their oils are undiluted.  The other really cool thing about Simply Earth is that they donate a percentage of their profits to different causes and this month they are donating 13% of the profits from purchases to The Hope Project to help end human trafficking!  That in itself is a beautiful thing.  I am always behind a company that gives back!

Tea Tree Oil Mud Mask:

1 Tbsp Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay
1 Tbsp Water (the warmer the water the better)
3-4 drops of 100% Tea Tree Essential Oil by Simply Earth

Mix together all ingredients until smooth then apply, preferably with a brush, then let dry for about 20 minutes then rinse to reveal fresh, clean, soft and smooth skin!  If you need more mask just simply add equal parts of the Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay and Water.  You can also add more Tea Tree Oil if you would like it to be a little more intense.
I found the perfect little Mask Mixing Bowl Set on Amazon that comes with bowl, measuring spoons, mixing spatula and brush and I use it to mix all my loose powder masks so be sure to check that out as well (it's only $2.09!).

I thought I my age I wouldn't be dealing with oily skin anymore.  Wrong!  Even at 42 I still have very oily skin.  People always tell me it's a blessing and that it will help keep me looking younger longer but for me it's just a big pain.  I am constantly trying out products that will help me keep my oily skin in check.  For me, it's all about finding the right moisturizer that balances out my skin.

For the last few weeks I have been using this Face Moisturizer by Spirit Naturals and so far I have been really impressed! What I like most about this moisturizer is that it's made with all natural and Organic ingredients like Jojoba Oil, Hemp Oil and Vitamins B5, E, and B12 which is important for me and my skin.

This lotion is lightweight, is quickly absorbed and leaves skin feeling nourished and hydrated not greasy or oily at all.  It really helps balance my oily skin and prep it for makeup.  One pump is enough to cover my entire face and neck so a little goes a long way which means the 1.7 oz. bottle will last me a long time!

So far so good with this Face Moisturizer by Spirit Naturals!  It has helped keep my oily skin in check while keeping my skin hydrated at the same time.  I also have not experienced any breakouts from this which happens sometimes with moisturizers.
