I used to take 5-HTP for my insomnia on a semi-regular basis but now I've started taking it because I realized it also acts as an appetite suppressant.  Not only that, 5-HTP increases the production of serotonin so it helps also regulate your mood...in a good way!
More recently it's been marketed as a weight loss supplement because it does help suppress the appetite and it also supports fat metabolism.  Several clinical trials have shown that it works to lower the number of calories eaten and aids in weight loss.  One study compared overweight women who took 200 mg of 5-HTP before each meal to those who took a placebo.  The women who took the supplement ate 1,084 fewer calories per day and felt less hungry during the day.  In another study, women who took 5-HTP lost 10.3 pounds over 12 weeks, compared to 2.2 pounds in the placebo group.
I usually take 5-HTP about 20 minutes before I eat and it really does suppress my appetite and help me eat less than I normally would.  However, 5-HTP is a naturally occurring compound in the body but it's really meant to be taken for short-term use (about 12 weeks) so I only take it for about 8 weeks at a time and then take a few months off.  Also, if you are pregnant of breastfeeding, you should not use 5-HTP.

I think this Eco Friendly BPA Free Sports Water Bottle by Mindbody Active is such a cool idea!  I love that I can just throw it in my gym bag or purse, it's lightweight and doesn't take up a bunch of room.  It's also free of those bad chemicals like BPA and Phthalate.  Plus, it's eco-friendly, recyclable, leak free, dishwasher safe, microwave safe and even freezer safe!  I am really big on drinking a ton of water but I like my water ice cold so this water bottle is perfect to fill up, throw in the freezer before I go to bed and then grab it on my way out the door in the morning.

I have also tried to cut back on the amount of bottled water I buy so these Eco Friendly BPA Free Sports Water Bottles by Mindbody Active are a great alternative.  My other more sinister use for these compact, leak free water bottles is to use them for an upcoming vacation.  We are going to be taking a cruise in September and if any of you have ever been on a cruise before then you know that they do not allow you to bring any alcohol aboard (with the exception of 1 bottle of wine).  So, my plan is use these water bottles to smuggle (yes, I said smuggle) alcohol on board.  I heard the scanners can't detect the plastic the way the can glass bottles.  So that's my sinister plan, cross your fingers for me! I have tried out several "cellulite creams" and while I don't believe for one second that a cream can get rid of cellulite I do believe a good cellulite cream can improve the tone and texture of skin which in turn can help reduce the appearance of cellulite.
I have been using this Slim Extreme 3D Thermo Active Shaping Serum by Eveline Cosmetics and I have to say it's unlike any other cellulite cream I have tried.  First of all, it's a serum not a cream and actually has a more of a gel like texture to it.  Plus, it's red in color and it has a warming up effect which is really unique.
According to Eveline Cosmetics the serum is specifically for abdomen and buttocks and is supposed to reduces adipose tissue, slim and shape waist line, lift buttocks and visibly corrects their contour, visibly reduce cellulite and improve skin elasticity and firmness.  The Thermo Fat Burner formula delicately warms up the skin which helps deliver active substances deep into epidermis.
After using this serum for a few weeks I am really impressed with my results.  My skin definitely has a more smooth appearance and texture to it.  The warming effect is a really cool feature of this serum, it's especially effective when you put it on after a shower or bath.  I was actually surprised how warm it got!  If you have sensitive skin you may want to do a test spot before you apply it all over.
