It's no secret that I LOVE my tea!  So, when I can combine my love of tea with detoxing and loosing a few pounds I don't think it can get any better than that!  Am I right?

I love working with Skinny Jane so I was really happy when they sent me this tea to test out for them.  This is their T.K.O. Knock Out Weight Loss Tea that smells and tastes like Peaches!  I love that the tea comes in a cute, reusable tin and the tea itself is packaged in nice, silk tea bags!  

The first thing you notice when you open the tin is the intense smell of peaches, it smells so good!! The tea not only looks, smells and taste great but it also WORKS!  I have been enjoying the tea every morning and it has given me more energy and has really helped suppress my appetite!

I used to take 5-HTP for my insomnia on a semi-regular basis but now I've started taking it because I realized it also acts as an appetite suppressant.  Not only that, 5-HTP increases the production of serotonin so it helps also regulate your mood...in a good way!
More recently it's been marketed as a weight loss supplement because it does help suppress the appetite and it also supports fat metabolism.  Several clinical trials have shown that it works to lower the number of calories eaten and aids in weight loss.  One study compared overweight women who took 200 mg of 5-HTP before each meal to those who took a placebo.  The women who took the supplement ate 1,084 fewer calories per day and felt less hungry during the day.  In another study, women who took 5-HTP lost 10.3 pounds over 12 weeks, compared to 2.2 pounds in the placebo group.
I usually take 5-HTP about 20 minutes before I eat and it really does suppress my appetite and help me eat less than I normally would.  However, 5-HTP is a naturally occurring compound in the body but it's really meant to be taken for short-term use (about 12 weeks) so I only take it for about 8 weeks at a time and then take a few months off.  Also, if you are pregnant of breastfeeding, you should not use 5-HTP.

I just recently started trying out this YouTrim by PuraLabs again.  I started taking it over a month ago but had to stop almost right after I started because I ended up getting really sick with Walking Pneumonia, Bronchitis and a Sinus Infection, so NOT fun!  Since I had to take anti-biotics, cough syrup and decongestants among other things I had to stop taking all my usual supplements.

Anyway, I've been taking it again for about a week now and it seems to be working great.  I'm sure it would work even better if I would actually remember to take the 2nd dose in the afternoon!  I am so good about taking my supplements in the a.m. but I always get too busy and forget in the afternoon!  However, I love that it gives me the extra energy I need in the morning and when my usual 10:00 am cravings usually start I've now noticed that I don't get that nagging feeling for at least another hour or so.  That is a HUGE help since I tend to want to grab something someone brought into the office and it's usually something I shouldn't be eating!

My best friend recently decided to be in a body building competition so she is using all kinds of supplements, pre-workout powders, post-workout powders and protein powders and I've also heard her mention the supplement L-Carnitine quite a lot.

L-Carnitine basically helps the human body use fat as fuel.  It can also help support support workout recovery by reducing the accumulation of metabolic wastes during exercise, which enhances your ability to recover faster after workouts.
