I have long been fascinated by how the pH levels in our bodies can effect our bodies from the inside out and the issues that can occur when the levels are off balance. The actual pH scale ranges from 0 to 14, and 7 is considered as a neutral value. Every value below 7 stands for an acidic substance, and when the value is higher than 7, the substance is considered to be alkaline, or base.
What does having a well balanced pH level mean for you? An acidic environment is associated with accelerated cancer growth and more prone to disease, including arthritis, cancer, cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, obesity and skin issues. Also, when there is an imbalanced pH value the body cannot utilize all of the nutrients from food and this can eventually lead to fatigue.
Not only does the food we consume effect our pH levels but toxins found in everyday items such as our clothing and cleaning products that we use build up in our systems and directly effects our pH levels.
Our bodies can regulate its pH value, but not for long, so you need to help your body reach a pH balance. The chart below can help you get your pH levels back to where it should be.
