A Derma Roller/Micro Needle Roller, what is it and do you need it? If you have perfect skin then no you don't need it. If you have less than perfect skin then chances are you could really benefit from a Derma Roller and you should keep reading!
A Derma Roller is a skin care tool that is uses hundreds of extremely fine medical-grade needles, available in various sizes, to painlessly (usually) puncture microchannels into the skin which then triggers the bodys' natural healing process to create new tissue. If you have acne scarring, wrinkles, uneven skin texture or hyperpigmentation then a Derma Roller is something I recommend adding to your skin care regime.
As we age our cell renewal process slows down so it makes sense that if we can help our skin cells renew on a regular basis that our skin will continue to look and feel younger for longer.
Using a Derma Roller has helped smooth out some of my old acne scars, diminish the look of fine lines and helped keep my Melasma under control. All it takes is 3-5 sessions a week with the appropriate size Derma Roller to help maintain healthy, glowing skin.
The Derma Roller System offers various sizes from 0.5mm if you just want some help with cell renewal or all the way up to 2.5 mm which can be used to treat deeper scarring and stretch marks. If your a beginner I would recommend starting with the 0.55mm size needle and work your way up to the larger sizes. I personally use a 1.5 mm which helps promote cell regeneration and treat wrinkles, scarring and hyperpigmentation.
When using a Derma Roller you should always start with freshly cleansed skin and a clean Derma Roller. I primarily use my Derma Roller on my face, neck and decollete and I incorporate it into my nightly skin care routine about 3-5 times a week.
The proper way to Derma Roll is to gently over the area you wish to treat 4 times vertically, 4 times horizontally, 4 times diagonally to the left and 4 times diagonally to the right. You can apply your favorite oil, serum or cream before you Derma Roller or after. My preference is to do it after. A nice hydrating sheet mask is also beneficial when used immediately following a Derma Roller session. You will instantly notice that your skin will look more fresh and plump even after just one use!
The Derma Roller System retails for $79.95. For more detailed information about the Derma Roller System, treatment and needle sizes make sure to visit dermarollersystem.com. Are you ready to try Derma Rolling?
